I came home to find a digger blocking the street, the ground and the air showered with falling bricks and rising dust. The house in front of mine was three-storeys: it was flattened by the end of the day and the quiet little courtyard in front of my apartment (OK it’s really just a concrete square) now has a street view. The pace of destruction and construction in Korea is incredible. However, the alley connecting my house to the street is now part of the construction site, and once again the chance of getting hit in the head by falling debris has risen dramatically.

Day 2: Now I have a view of the street!

My house, finally viewable from the street. Gonna miss that privacy.
